EQUIPPING MILITARY-AFFILIATED STUDENTS FOR A BRIGHTER FUTURE

Since 1919, The New School has welcomed students into a new kind of university in New York City where scholars, artists, and designers unite to challenge convention and create positive change. Our rigorous, multidimensional approach to education dissolves walls between disciplines and helps nurture progressive minds.

The New School views veterans, service members and their families as a distinct, diverse population with unique experiences, viewpoints and culture. To facilitate belonging and ensure ease of transition to thrive in their academic pursuits, our Center for Military-Affiliated Students has a dedicated team committed to assisting students in reaching their fullest potential.

At our university, students have the academic freedom to shape their unique, individual paths for a complex and rapidly changing world. With leading-edge faculty and world-renowned alumni, we develop students who engage the world’s most pressing social issues. Our graduates become leaders in their respective fields, leveraging a one-of-a-kind education and our university’s extensive network to transition to dynamic careers that change the world for the better.

FLEXIBLE

The Bachelor’s Program for Adults and Transfer Students (BPATS) was founded in 1943 to serve veterans returning from World World II and is designed to meet the needs of adult students seeking freedom, flexibility, and an individualized experience as they complete their degrees. BPATS is also the only undergraduate program at The New School with a Prior Learning Assessment program, allowing students to seek transfer credit for college-level learning attained through work experience, life experience, military experience, and artistic pursuits.

DYNAMIC

Military-affiliated students with the appropriate academic credentials are eligible to apply to any undergraduate and graduate program across the New School’s five colleges in addition to the BPATS program. For more information on particular majors and degree programs offered within each of the colleges, please visit their websites:
